Terms of use

1. Purpose

These terms of use govern the use of tamilmarket.fr and tamilads.fr (together, “the site”), published by SELVARATNAM Kandeepan (Entrepreneur individuel (EI)). By using the site, you accept these terms.

2. The service

The site lets you publish and browse classified ads for the Tamil community in France, free of charge. TamilMarket.fr shows every category and the full ad pages; TamilAds.fr shows a preview of Property & Business ads, which open on TamilMarket.fr. Both sites share the same ads and the same accounts.

The site is an ad hosting service: it is not the seller, landlord, employer or provider of the goods and services offered, and it is not a party to any transaction between users.

3. Account

• To publish, you must be an adult and sign in with a Google account or with a sign-in link sent by email.
• You are responsible for the use of your account and for the accuracy of the information you provide.
• The site may suspend an account that breaches these terms.

4. Publishing ads

• Publishing is free. Each ad must follow the posting rules and French law.
• You alone are responsible for the content of your ads (texts, photos, videos, prices, contact details) and you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to them.
• You grant the site a free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, resize and distribute your content on both of its domains for as long as the ad is published.
• Ads are deleted automatically, with their photos, after 90 days. The publisher may keep certain ads online for longer. You can edit your ads, mark them “unavailable” or delete them at any time.

5. Property & Business ads

These ads concern a home for rent, a home for sale or a business for sale (“vente commerce”).

• The advertiser must be the owner or a person authorised to offer the property or business, and must publish accurate information.
• The site is not an estate agency or an agent: it does not negotiate, does not choose any tenant or buyer, does not collect rent, deposits or sale prices, receives no commission linked to a rental or sale, and signs no lease or sale agreement.
• Visitors can send their details to the advertiser through a form. The information requested (depending on the ad: right to live in France yes/no, monthly income, number of occupants, personal contribution) is self-declared. The site does not check it and does not score or sort applicants.
• The advertiser undertakes not to discriminate on any ground prohibited by law (origin, nationality, religion, sex, disability, etc.) and to comply with the rules that apply to renting and selling.
• The advertiser must use the details received only to reply about their ad, keep them confidential and delete them once they are no longer needed.

6. Prohibited behaviour

In particular, the following are prohibited: illegal, fraudulent or misleading content; ads for prohibited goods or services; spam and duplicates; impersonation; publishing other people’s personal data without their consent; automated collection of the site’s data; any attempt to undermine the security of the service.

7. Reporting and moderation

Anyone can report an ad. After review, the site may mark an ad as unavailable, delete it or suspend an account. The procedure and how to contest a decision are described on the Reporting & moderation page.

8. Liability

As a hosting service, the site does not check ads before they are published and does not guarantee their accuracy, the quality of the goods and services offered or the behaviour of users. It acts promptly to remove clearly illegal content that is reported to it. The service is provided as is; interruptions may occur. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under French law.

10. Intellectual property

The site’s name, logos, code and design are protected. Content published by users remains their property.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page; using the site after a change means you accept the new version.

12. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If you have a problem, please contact us first at contact@tamilmarket.fr so that we can look for an amicable solution. Otherwise, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the protective rules that apply to consumers.

13. Languages

These terms are available in French, English and Tamil. If the versions differ, the French version prevails.
