How it works

1. TamilMarket.fr and TamilAds.fr

TamilMarket.fr is the main marketplace: every category of ads from the Tamil community in France (housing, jobs, vehicles, services, businesses, food & catering, events…). TamilAds.fr shows Property & Business ads only. Both sites are published by SELVARATNAM Kandeepan and share the same ads and the same accounts. An ad posted from TamilAds.fr in another category is shown on TamilMarket.fr.

2. Who can publish, and at what cost?

Any adult with an account can publish. Publishing is free. Ads are written by their authors; the site does not check them before publication.

3. How ads are ordered

• Home page, categories and search: the most recent ads come first (date of publication).
• Search: finds ads whose title or description contains the words you typed, then sorts them from newest to oldest.
• “Most viewed”: ranked by number of views (a view is counted at most once per visitor session); unavailable ads are left out.
• “Similar ads”: recent ads from the same category.
• There is no paid placement today. If paid promotion is ever offered, it will be clearly labelled “Sponsored”.

4. Unavailable ads and automatic deletion

An advertiser can mark their ad “unavailable”: it stays visible with that label and no longer receives enquiries. Ads are deleted automatically after 90 days, with their photos. The publisher may decide to keep certain ads online for longer; this has no effect on their position in the lists.

5. Moderation

Anyone can report an ad. Reports are reviewed by the publisher, who may mark an ad unavailable, delete it or suspend an account. See Reporting & moderation.

6. Property & Business: the role of the site

For every home for rent, home for sale or business for sale, an interested visitor can leave their details in a form. These details are passed only to the advertiser, who reads them in their account and decides alone whom to contact, by phone or WhatsApp.

TamilMarket only publishes the ad and passes on the request. The site:

• is not an estate agency, a property agent or a broker;
• does not represent the owner or seller and does not negotiate prices;
• does not select, score or recommend any tenant or buyer, and makes no automated decision;
• does not collect rent, deposits or sale prices, and receives no commission linked to a rental or sale;
• does not draft or sign any lease, preliminary contract or deed of sale.

No email notification is sent: the advertiser sees enquiries when they sign in. Enquiries are deleted automatically 90 days after the ad is deleted.

7. The blog

The blog offers practical guides. It complements the ads: each article links to the ads of the matching category.

8. Advertising

If advertisements are shown, they appear in spaces labelled “Advertisement”, kept apart from ads, call buttons and forms, and only according to your cookie choices.
